Meet the Hunt District PTA
The Hunt District PTA is one of the twenty-one districts of the Virginia PTA. We provide support, training, networking, advocacy collaboration and student recognition for over 50 PTAs and PTSAs in Clarke County, Frederick County, Loudoun County, Warren County and Winchester City, representing more than 10,700 PTA members.
If you are a PTA member at a school located in Loudoun, Clarke, Warren, Winchester or Frederick, then you are a member of the Hunt District PTA as well as the Virginia PTA and National PTA!
Local Support & Training
Our Hunt District Officers live here in the Hunt District, and just like you, are actively involved in their children's schools and know what is happening in our community. Taking time to support our leaders face to face or via telephone is what sets the PTA apart. We are here to answer your questions, attend your meetings, provide personalized training, leadership tools and any other support or guidance you need to help you build a strong PTA and a close partnership between your parents and your school!
Networking & Advocacy
As a District, we host Leadership Roundtables several times a year to provide a unique forum for local PTA officers to share ideas and solutions for growing family engagement and seek support for advocacy concerns. Community Conversations are open to all parents, students, teachers and staff to learn about a topic of community concern from subject matter experts and discuss ways we can collaborate, as a county, to address those concerns.
We actively advocate for the needs of our schools and students not only within our local schools but also with the school administration, the county government, State Legislatures, the US Congress and the State and National Departments of Education. A nationally organized and supported advocacy effort that supports changing policies, laws, programs and funding for education is unique to the PTA and sets us apart from unaffiliated Parent Groups. Parents are encouraged to attend PTA meetings at their school so that their elected PTA Officers can represent your school's concerns and needs at Hunt District Meetings and Events. Learn more about our Advocacy program.
The National PTA provides valuable tools to help you host fun Family Engagement Events that build school spirit and help families enjoy learning together. See Event Tools for overviews, how to videos, ready to use posters, flyers and more.
The Virginia and National PTA student recognition programs uniquely allow PTAs to recognize students for talents beyond what may be recognized in school. When you hold a creative arts Reflections contest, a healthy recipe Power Plates contest or a Citizenship Essay contest, your winning students can move on to compete at the District level and the Virginia PTA state level. Reflections winners have on opportunity to compete at a national level and be recognized by the National PTA. We also offer PTSA student members an opportunity to apply for a $1,000 scholarship.
