National PTA offers over $100,000 of awards or grants to honor and support PTAs as they engage families, support student success, improve the health and safety of students and families, increase access to arts education or celebrate advocacy and diversity.

Your PTA may also apply for grants from a variety of state and national organizations and businesses to purchase unique learning tools or sponsor a special event.  Here is a sampling of grant opportunities you may like to consider:  

​COVID-19 Relief Funding

​National PTA is pleased to announce that we will be distributing $1.25 million dollars in COVID Relief Funds to over 150 local and District/Council/Region PTAs across the country. With generous support from TikTok, this emergency grant funding is intended to allow your PTA to help meet the most pressing needs of your school community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Don't Miss: Discover additional resources for how National PTA is helping PTAs as we Tackle COVID-19 Together. Application is open June 1-July 12, 2020 (awarded Aug. 5) and is available to all local and District/Council/Region PTAs.

STEM + Families Grants

National PTA partners with businesses to empower families to support student success and fill a critical gap in STEM education.  The STEM+Families Tech Grant awards $1,000 to 35 PTAs across the country to host a STEM + Families Tech Night with students and families at their Elementary School in the spring of 2018 where families will learn exciting new Minecraft coding skills or to build a robotic finger (two different program models). National PTA provide all the support and training. Mary Lou Anderson Grant for Arts in Education

Enhance PTA arts projects in your school community! The National PTA Mary Lou Anderson Reflections Arts Enhancement Grant provides up to $1,000 in matching funds to support local PTA arts projects within their school community. Funded projects will increase access to learning opportunities in the literary, media, visual and/or performing arts for at-risk or underserved audiences. Arts projects must actively engage families and community partners to strengthen family-school partnerships. Eligible applicants must be a PTA in good standing, as determined by the State PTA.

Take Your Family to School Week Grant

This grant, sponsored by Chrysler and Google Chromebook will provide $1,000 to 55 local PTAs who commit to hosting an event that focuses on one of three PTA programmatic themes: Health and Safety; Literacy and Digital Learning.  Take Your Family to School Week was February 10-17, 2019.

Jan Hope Domene Award for ​Diversity & Inclusion

National PTA offers the $1,000 Jan Harp Domene Diversity and Inclusion Award. This award recognizes PTAs that best demonstrate outstanding achievement in the areas of diversity and inclusion, as well as efforts to end discriminatory practices.
​
The award will be presented to one state PTA, one district/council PTA and one local PTA at the Annual National PTA Convention.

Reflections 50th Anniversary Grant

In celebration of Reflections 50th anniversary, the National PTA is awarding two PTAs with $1,000 grants!  Tell them how you'll increase access to high quality arts programs and participate in Reflections during 2018-2019 school year. Apply for the grant by going to PTA.org/Reflections.

Action for Healthy Kids Grants

Action for Healthy Kids offers three different grant opportunities:
  • Breakfast Grants: Nearly 300 schools will receive $2000 to $3,000 to support increased breakfast participation utilizing new alternative breakfast models. 
  • Game On Grants: Apply to win a $500 to $1,000 grant to support physical activity and nutrition initiatives that help your school become recognized as a health-promoting school. Interested schools submit a proposal that includes a physical activity AND a nutrition component.
  • Parents for Healthy Kids Grants: Up to 150 schools may be awarded $1,000 for parents or parent groups to lead school-based physical activity and nutrition initiatives. Interested schools should submit a proposal that includes a physical activity AND nutrition component that are led by a parent(s).  Schools with greater than 50% of students eligible for free/reduced-priced meals may receive priority, as well as schools located within 15 miles of an ALDI store, but all schools are encouraged to apply. Applications are due by April 5, 2019.

    ​All applicants will be entered for a chance to win one of 5 ALDI gift cards worth $100 each for their schools. Winners are randomly drawn and will be informed by May 13, 2019.  Get more information.
