Virginia PTA Scholarship

2019 Recipients    |     2020 Recipients
Hunt District PTSA High School Seniors who meet the eligibility criteria may apply for a Scholarship from the Virginia PTA!
Virginia PTA is proud to offer $1,000 scholarships to graduating Virginia high school students with an active PTA/PTSA in good standing. The scholarship is awarded not solely on the basis of academic achievement or financial need but rather on a demonstrated commitment to, and engagement in, community service. The number of scholarships awarded each year depends on proceeds of special Virginia PTA awards. Donations in honor, or in memory of, special individuals are always welcome, as well as contributions to the scholarship fund.

Applicant Eligibility

Student must:
  • Be a member of their school's PTA/PTSA
  • Graduate from a Virginia high school that has an active PTA/PTSA in good standing;
  • Enter an accredited Virginia college or university in the Fall following the date of application for the scholarship; and
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a scale of 4.0) or better.

The completed application packet must include:
  • Evidence of financial need and academic achievement;
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation of which one speaks to your volunteer service;
  • Transcript (including SAT/ACT scores); and
  • Proof of PTSA membership (prior to December 1)

Deadlines: Postmarked by MARCH 2nd (electronic submissions not accepted)

Note: Scholarship money is sent directly to the college or university upon receipt of a copy of the college registration form.

The Hunt District is happy to participate in local high school awards ceremonies to celebrate any recipients from our district.
